Our Story
Welcome to The Bone Yard.
This isn’t some corporate test kitchen built by marketers. This is real BBQ — born from years on the competition circuit, long nights by the smoker, and a relentless drive to create flavor that stands out in a crowded room.
Kerry Thomas created the Don’t Eat The Bone BBQ Team in 2013 with a passion for competition barbecue, bold flavor, and the pursuit of cooking the best food possible. Between competition weekends and years spent cooking at the fire station, Kerry developed a passion for bringing people together through great barbecue and bold flavor. What started on the BBQ circuit became years of learning, refining techniques, and building flavors that could stand on their own.
After years of competing and cooking with countless seasonings, Kerry set out to create something different — blends built from experience, made for real cooks, and designed to deliver flavor people remember. Every bottle is crafted with purpose, tested on real pits, and made to perform whether you’re cooking in the backyard or competing for trophies.
From Bone Dust to Bone Fire and everything in between, these aren’t just spices — they’re the result of years spent around smoke, fire, and barbecue culture.
The Bone Yard is more than just a store or a website. It’s a community built around a shared passion for barbecue, flavor, family, and the lifestyle that comes with it. It’s a place for backyard warriors, pitmasters, competitors, family, friends, and anyone who believes great food brings people together. When you cook with Don’t Eat The Bone, you become part of The Bone Yard family.
We proudly make our products in Texas in small batches because quality matters. No shortcuts. No filler. Just honest flavor we stand behind.
Around here, we believe anything worth doing is worth overdoing. More smoke. More flavor. More passion. More memories made around the pit.
And we’re just getting started. More blends, products, and Don't Eat The Bone creations are already in the works.
So whether you’re feeding your family, cooking for friends, or chasing your next grand champion call, you’re welcome here.
